Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using TowerWatch, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What TowerWatch is
TowerWatch is a free, public-interest community forum operated by Wildfire-Ready (non-profit, incorporation in progress). It is a companion to your official emergency information sources, never a replacement. TowerWatch is not an official emergency service. In an emergency, call 911.
3. Account terms
You must be at least 13 years old. One account per person. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your credentials secure. We may suspend or close accounts for rule violations.
4. Acceptable use
Our Community Guidelines are incorporated into these Terms.
5. Content ownership
You keep ownership of what you post. You grant TowerWatch a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, distribute, cache, and translate your content as needed to operate the service.
6. Verified content
Guardians may label content as verified, unconfirmed, or second-hand. These labels are not legal warranties. Verified content can still be incorrect. Do not rely on TowerWatch for life-safety decisions.
7. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for emergency use. TowerWatch is not a substitute for official emergency services. In an emergency, call 911 and follow direction from the responsible authorities.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by Canadian law, our total liability to you is limited to nothing — this is a free public-interest service. We are not liable for actions taken or not taken based on content posted by the community.
9. Termination
We may close accounts or end the service at any time. You may close your account at any time from within the app.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the province to be determined (likely British Columbia or Alberta — to be confirmed with counsel).
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified to active accounts.
